Our take on the data
- Fees for training are low compared to rates for freelance employment as a designer or creative consultant in the UK with more than half our respondents indicating a fee of £250 day as compared to a median of £350 for freelance design work*.
- There is little or no correlation between experience and fees with 60% of respondents indicating greater than 20 year’s experience in their field.
- Only 10% of trainers feel they are reasonably paid for their work.
- Only 10% of trainers feel they can ask for more without compromising their arrangements.
Trainer fees vs other freelance fees
There is little consensus on fees for freelancers in any area of employment but according to figures quoted by itjobswatch.co and btbpeople.co, the median fee for freelance designers is £350 per day with senior designers typically charging upwards of £400 per day.
